But making impressive meals is easy if you know the right flavor combinations.

Here’s a simple—but impressive—dish most men have never made, but it’s about time they do: Eggs Cacio e Pepe.

Cacio e Pepe translates to “cheese and pepper” in Italian. Really, the dish is little more than that. Usually you’ll see the phrase on a menu pertaining to pasta. But this recipe swaps the carbs for the hen yard.

It’s brunch. It’s lunch. It’s dinner. It’s your new favorite easy meal. Cook the recipe below, and then serve it with the following cocktail.

Eggs Cacio e Pepe

What you’ll need:

1 Tbsp coarsely ground black pepper
1 Tbsp olive oil
4 eggs, 3 beaten and 1 whole
1 ½ cups grated Grana Padano cheese
Handful of greens (arugula or salad mix)

How to make it:

1. In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, add the pepper.

Toast until aromatic, 10 to 15 seconds.

Then add the olive oil and the eggs.

Cook, stirring gently with a rubber spatula, until the eggs begin to set, about 2 minutes.

Stir in the cheese and serve.

Serve with the greens tossed in a few drops of olive oil and black pepper.

Serves 2.
