A typical Bulgarian breakfast meal.
4 cups all white flour
2 heaping tablespoons of baking powder
Pinch of salt and sugar
2 cups warm milk /water is possible to be used instead of milk or even yoghurt, but not warm of course/
Mix all together then make well n add 2 cups warm milk ( has to be warm).
Mix to form dough .
Let sit in ball 10 minutes the dough will rise.
Knead out and cut into shapes.
Put in hot oil, make sure oil is not boiling get it to temp where it’s hot.
Remember not to keep turning dough over n over it will be greasy and heavy. Turn once on both sides till golden brown.
Serve with jam, white cheese, sugar. It depends on your taste
