Five-star hotels, traveling around the globe and racking up airline points may sound glamorous, but if you constantly travel for work, you know there is another side to the story. Traveling can impact you in many ways, including physiologically, psychologically, emotionally and even socially. One study found that people who travel frequently for work are less likely to eat well and exercise, and they feel more isolated from their friends and families.

Healthier dining options, such as salad bars, gluten-free menus and restaurants featuring fresh ingredients and made-to-order entrees are growing in popularity. At Chicago’s Midway Airport, for example, a $75 million renovation project is underway, giving a facelift to its concession area and replacing many of its old stand-bys with new, more upscale food service.
