Cheesy Okra Fritters
20 Okra (or Lady Fingers – preferably long ones)
3 Cubes Processed Cheese (Grated)
1/2 Cup Flour (Maida)
1/4 Cup Cornmeal
1 Tsp Chilli Flakes
1 Tsp Oregano Seasoning
1 Tsp Basil
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
1 Large Egg
1/4 Cup Milk
1/2 Tsp Vinegar
Salt to Taste
Refined Oil for Deep Frying
Water as needed
Slit the Okra lengthwise, remove the seeds and fill it with grated cheese
Make a batter for fritters with Flour, Cornmeal, Oregano, Basil, Chilli Flakes, Garlic Powder, Salt, Egg, Milk, Vinegar and water (as needed).
Heat the oil in a wok.
Dip the okra in the batter so that it coats completely.
Deep fry on medium to high flame till golden brown.
Drain and serve hot with dips. (mustard sauce and mayonnaise will do).
